Tech Updates

Updated: 11/1/2017

October 31, 2017, Apple released patches for vulnerabilities discovered in the Wi-Fi encryption protocols WPA/WPA2 (“KRACK” attack[1]).  Be sure to update all your devices!  Patched Apple products include:

  • iOS 11.1
  • macOS 10.13.1
  • macOS 10.12.6
  • macOS 10.11.6
  • tvOS 11.1
  • watchOS 4.1

This page is mostly for my clients, but anyone interested in the Apple ecosphere are very welcome.  I am in my 3rd year of mobile living, living paperless-ly, and it is the Apple products and how seamlessly they work together, with Evernote thrown in, that makes it all possible.

Apple’s iPhone 8 and X are worth looking at.  For me, NOT an early adopter, I’ll wait for the iPhone X.  The iPhone 8 will just be more of the same, and some are calling it the ‘swan song’ of this generation.  I’ll wait for the new generation.  Also, I’m upgrading to the latest version of the Mac OS called High Sierra (10.13) The current release Sierra (now version 10.13.1) has been out for a while. Watch the tutorial on Sierra, my favorite on-line training site

iOS 11.1, the new operating system for Apple idevices (iPad, iPhone, etc.) has come out.  Upgrade!  It seems to have really exciting updates for our devices like an easy way of seeing all your files, no matter where they are (iCloud, DropBox, etc.), a more intelligent Dock so you can easily see recent apps and see your dock in all apps, a new split-view ability, so you can multitask easier on your small screens, drag-and-drop between different apps, and updates to the Apple Pencil for the iPad Pro.  The big news is the improvement to ApplePay, where using Messages you can send money to friends or family!  Anyway, click the link above and have a look!

The new larger iPhones 7 and 7 Plus, the Apple Watch and a wallet service called Apple Pay are amazing and worth looking into.

Also, check out the latest MacBook Pro, slim, light and fast!
