An interpretation of Georgia O’Keefe’s painting “Lawrence Tree.” It represents the protective and nurturing aspect of parenting: giving shelter yet permitting experience of the outside world. Included images in the quilting design are a nest of eggs and a squirrel holding an acorn. Hand appliqued and quilted. In my quilt, the image is upside down, but I like it better that way.(Bennett Collection)
