Xmas Table Runner, 21″ x 91″, Bondville, Vermont, 2024

This one only took about 2 weeks to complete, from initial drawing to the final quilting. I was inspired by the various 12 Days of Vlogmas videos various quilters I follow were doing on YouTube. The design hit me quickly, and I drew it fast on my iPad ()using Paper 53 and my Apple Pencil).

A dear friend Robin, who has since passed, gave me her stash of metallic fabrics, and I have been looking for ways to use them. This was it, a good, stain-resistant choice for the dining room table. I laid out the gold fabric, and then just started building from there. Once I decided on raw-edge appliqué, I was almost home-free.

I did get stuck at construction, separate binding or pillow case assembly. I decided on the later, and once I had, things took only a few days from there. The quilting would be around each object – simple. I can always quilt it more next year if I want to. I included garlands on the trees, and even fireworks for New Years.

MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR TO EVERYONE!
