Since 2012, I have been working on a fusible-web applique technique based on Cindy Walters Snipet Sensations book. Over time I have completed 3 large landscapes using my impressionistic paint dabbing technique.

Once I’ve chosen a landscape I do a mock up of the scene on my computer, so the actual view is altered. Then I project it onto a wall and trace it onto my pattern paper and decide on the seam lines. Then I prepare my fabric with fusible web, transfer the pattern onto muslin, and go to town!

Now that those pieces are done, I’m interested in working on copying Monet’s water lilies, this time changing my technique to be more realistic and dynamic. Check back later for photos of that in the works.
