I am using this poor term mercilessly and incorrectly, but it’s my word now, so I’ll enjoy it. The term refers to a Japanese technique of watercolor effects that appear on their gorgeous gold-leafed landscape panels.

These pieces are mostly 8″ x 10″ and look great framed. I’m announcing right here and right now that I intend to make a full quilt using this technique. Yep, I’m going to quilt through that gold lame and everything. Wish me luck!
