I began this quilt in June 2022, and only finished piecing each of the 11 rows in early March 2023. It’s my third English Paper Piecing (EPP) quilt and I’m still in love with the technique! It’s based on Willyne Hammerstein’s Gitana Fiesta (see middle image below). I’m working in lavenders and I’m really excited about this one. The piecing is simpler than My New Obsession, but the fussy cutting is much more important and can make or break the effect of her swirly stars. I expect to complete this for the Bondville Fair Quilt Show this coming August 2023.
