A play on the childhood joke, “What is black and white and read all over? A newspaper!” I love the newsprint and manuscript fabric I chose for the background, and I think quilting the whole thing in red thread will complete the pun.
This was created during QVQ workshop with Jean Impey in January 2023. I really enjoyed. Now I think it will be a wall hanging – it’s too big to be a table runner. I am now in the process of quilting it – with red thread!
I don’t often do traditional piecing such as this elaboration on the Dresden Plate block. Jean’s workshop was great and I highly recommend it!
